The Earthen Abode

ABOUT THE PROJECT

A prestigious collaboration that testifies to IDUS’s presence in God’s own country, this home exhibits modern sensibility deeply rooted in deccan tradition and material richness. The designs are a reflection of functionality meeting regional character — where the beauty of natural wood, earthy tones, and lightly-filled spaces create a cosy, intimate home.

A ceiling suspended wooden swing, anchored by brass chains, brings a nostalgic touch of culture, reimagined in a contemporary setting by Ar. Muneer. In the living area, bespoke sofas in soft beige leather and accent tables with brass inlays strike a balance between luxury and comfort. The dining area features upholstered chairs in rich oceanic hues paired with a dining table with stone top and wooden base. Symbolic of purity and renewal, a custom sculpted metal lotus unfurls on the wall, its petals highlighted with delicate contours and metallic sheen.

This design dialog is continued to the bedrooms, — a serene retreat where the grain of natural wood wraps the walls and furniture, offset by neat linens & textiles. Custom nightstands and bespoke seating pieces create soothing environment, while the restrained palette enhances the play of natural materials.

Sunlit courtyards and flourishing outdoors shape this home that breathes — blurring the boundaries between indoors and the lush outdoors. Every element of this home showcases mindful workmanship and understated opulence — celebrating the luxury of simplicity and soul of southern peninsula design aesthetics.
